mood board

Here is my mood board for the genre of my music magazine, i have placed different types of images on here for a purpose.
  • I have 2 full body shots of kanye west, i have done this as i feel he is one of the best artists in the rap business and he represents my chosen genre. I have also used him as he is becoming a fashion icon, a lot of stuff he wears is becoming to be a trend in the Rap and R&B scene. Especially as he has his own clothing label. I have also used him as he is a different type of rapper compared to the likes of 50 Cent as he raps about real life rather than drugs, weapons and women all the time.
  • I have also included images of the likes of The Game, R Kelly, Jay Z and Chris Brown as i feel their one of the best artists in their genre of music. When you hear their names you know exactly who they are and what genre they represent.
  • I have also included a picture of Kid Cudi as he is another artist who will be big in the future of hip hop. His fashion also represents the hip hop industry also as he wears a lot of brands that are up the "in" things at the moment. If Kid Cudi and Kanye West are wearing it, it becomes big which shows how big they are. You can also see Kid Cudi wearing Kanye West's clothing line which again shows the impact kanye west has in the fashion industry.
  • I have also included some clothing that a lot of the Rap and R&B artists are wearing at the moment. Hi Top trainers are something that everyone seems to be wearing now, also watches are very big at the moment. If you see a photo of a Rap or R&B artist, i can guarantee that they will be wearing a watch and G Shock watches seems to be the hottest watches right now. As you can see in my mood board, the clothing that is wore now in the Rap industry is "Fitting" or "Skinny" wear rather than the baggy clothes which often gets sterotyped.
  • I have included a picture of a crowd at a Jay Z concert, the picture gives us an insight of what it is like to be at a rap concert. A lot of the audience look in the age group of 16-30 and holding up Jay Z's label sign. They all look like they are having a great time which again represents what Rap and R&B is all about, enjoying music and having a good time.
In Conclusion, i feel my mood board sums up a lot about Rap and R&B at the moment. It shows that the word Rap doesn't represent baggy clothing, and music about weapons and drugs but about how you want it to represent.
